Revisit this classic Winter Carnival Event, and test your turkey-tossin' skills!
The Winter Carnival, February 23rd, 2013
2pm at Remich Park
Turkey Bowling Rules & Regulations
- Each contestant must pay an entry fee of $2 for two throws; a buck a throw!
- Turkeys will be provided, and pins will be set up at the end of the lanes, and replaced by volunteers after each throw. Final score will be determined for every two throw, which count as "one round"; participants may sign up for multiple rounds, but one may not take scores from separate rounds and combine them. Intact turkeys will be available for sale post-event at a highly discounted price, as to prevent waste!
Cardboard Box Sled Race
February 23rd
1-3pm, Remich Park
A fun activity to get the whole family involved - Cardboard Box Sled Races!
- All Cardboard Box Sleds must be constructed solely of cardboard, tape, string, glue, garbage bags, and paper. Any other material used (i.e. wood, metal, plastic, glass, fiberglass, etc.) has been deemed prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.
- Inappropriate slogans, names, and graphics will result in immediate disqualification.
- Any craft considered potentially unsafe for participants or spectators will be disqualified prior to the start of the event.
- Participants will be judged on both creativity and performance/speed; in the event of a tie, there will be a run-off to declare the winner.
- Waivers MUST be signed prior to admittance to event.
Two Categories: 12 and under, and Adult (13+)/Business
Main Street Snowmen
Simple: in the week leading up to the Winter Carnival, create a Snowman and flaunt your business pride and your winter cheer! This is a non-judged event, and created for the sheer fact of a community building activity. Have fun with it!
Snow Sculpture Contest
For this competition, you may start sculpting the weekend before the Winter Carnival as to ensure enough time to complete it, and to allow for the sculptors to really show off their masterpiece!
Judging, however, will take place on Saturday the 23rd, the day of the Winter Carnival.
The rules are pretty basic: sculpt whatever you'd like out of snow and ice. Food coloring is allowed to "paint" the sculpture. However, no other items are allowed to be part of the finished product.
